I love to eat sweets and try new things. The other day I stumbled on this shop located in New Orleans called Sucré A Sweet Boutique. It has wonderful Chocolates, Macaron, and has special treats for Mardi Gras.

Sucré, is a one-of-a-kind dessert boutique in New Orleans’ historic Garden District. Sucré launched in April 2007.At Sucré, everything they create is handmade in small batches and crafted from the finest ingredients available, often inspried from local, home grown flavors.

I was lucky enough to try two differnt things from Sucré. The first thing I tried was some of their Macaron. They are crunchy on the out side and creamy in the inside. I tried the Salted Caramel, Bananas Foster, Cafe Au Lait, and the Pecan Macaron. The Pecan Macaron was my favorite out of the four, but they all were great and I would have them again.

Look how pretty the box is that the Macaron’s came in.

Here are what the Macaron’s look like in the box.

I was also lucky enough to try the king cake. I have never had king cake before and was it a good. It had a butter flavor with a cinnamon and sugar flavor. Heated up a bit it was delicious. I really didn’t know too much about the tradition of king cake so let me tell you a bit about it. Since the 1800s New Orleanians have celebrated the beginning of the Carnival Season with a “King Cake” on the Twelfth Night. A small plastic baby is inserted in the cake, and the reveler who finds it is said to have good fortune for the year. The recipient then continues the festivities by having another party and providing a King Cake.
