We are getting into a busy time of year with the holidays right around the corner. I think for many people they have so much to get done that they are not paying attention to what is going on around them or being safe. I want to share a few tips that will help you have a safe and happy holiday season.
1. Make sure you stay alert and aware. It is easy to get distracted by the crowds and trying to pick the perfect gift.
2. Keep shopping bags, valuables and purses close to you. Don’t leave your purse in the cart while you just grab a couple items.
3. Remember there is safety in numbers.
4. Park in a well lighted area and watch for people loitering in the parking lot near your car.
5. Have your keys in your hand so you are not distracted looking for them. Lock the door immediately after getting in.
6. Don’t flash large amounts of money, cell phones or expensive items.
7. Lock your home at all times.
8. Carry something to protect yourself at all times. 
These are just a few ways to stay safe. The number 8 tip is something I just started doing and that is I now carry Mace Brand Pepper Spray with me all the time.
