I like to eat yogurt in the morning - I don’t drink milk so the yogurt helps me get some of the calcium and vitamins I need. I recently tried a yogurt called siggi’s Skyr which is a traditional yogurt of Iceland. It is very thick and creamy. Different than any other yogurt I have tried. I really liked it. It uses 3-4 times more milk than a regular yogurt and have 2-3 times the protein.
siggi’s Skyr comes in a number of different flavors the one I tried was Pomegranate & Passion Fruit. I loved the combination. It also was pretty low in calorie only 100. The other flavors are strawberry, peach, acai & mixed berry, blueberry, orange and ginger (didn’t have that at the store I went to - but sounds yummy), plain, raspberry, vanilla, coconut, and pineapple. A flavor for everyone.
Siggis’s is produced in New York and along with the Skyr they also make Filmjölk which is a drinkable yogurt, and also probiotics which is a drinkable yogurt with an especially high concentration of one of the oldest and best known probiotic cultures: Lactobacillus Acidophilus.
If you would like to try siggi’s you can buy siggi’s Skyr, Filmjölk, and probiotics nationwide. I bought mine at Fred Meyer but have also seen them at Safeway. You can follow siggi’s on Facebook.
