This weekend I had some friends over for a cook out and to tell them about a great products that I have been using ~ IMG_0572Cascade Platinum detergent and rinse aid. I even was able to share some with them. I have really learned a lot working with Cascade. They gave me some great tips on using the dishwasher and I was able to share that with my friends and I will share it with you too.

First I want to show you what we had for dinner - I made homemade Mac n’ Cheese and Rex grilled pork tenderloins on the grill and we had some brownies for dessert. Doesn’t look great? It was very good and our friends really enjoyed the meal.

IMG_0574Here are the plates when we were done eating. In the past I would never have done this but I put it right in the dishwasher - When using Cascade Platinum detergent and rinse aid no need to pre-wash. Here’s why you need to skip the pre-wash: Cascade Platinum works best when food soil is left on dishes because its special enzymes latch onto that food, breaking it down so it can wash away. If there’s no food soil, there’s nothing for the enzymes to attach to and your detergent isn’t working its hardest for you.

I just toss the large bits of food into the trash and loaded it into the dishwasher. What a time saver. Did you know there is a garbage disposal built into the bottom of almost all IMG_0624dishwashers? It works just like the disposal in your sink.

Cascade Platinum delivers Cascade’s ultimate clean for dishes. It’s a premium product designed to achieve a clean so powerful it helps to keep the dishwasher sparkling while also delivering immaculately clean dishes each and every time. It even works on 24-hour stuck-on food! Even the brownie pan after sitting like this over night comes out clean!

Here are some great tips from Cascade for loading your dishwasher:

  • Stack your dishes high and low but please be sure that bulky items DO NOT block the sprayer.
  • Place tall dishes and pans in the back of the bottom rack so they DO NOT block the detergent chamber.
  • Place glasses and other fragile items in the top rack. This helps keep them from
the powerful sprayer under the bottom rack.
  • Set glasses between tines on the rack NOT over them as wet contact points can
    cause spots.
  • Thread any long utensils through coffee-mug handles to help keep them secure in
    the wash.
  • Check to ensure that there aren’t any stray utensils that will block the nozzle or
    sprayer.
  • And a special call out for any big dishes: load them on the bottom rack, face down
so the water is sure to reach all the nooks and crannies.

If you follow all of these tips you will have great looking dishes just like I do. See how clean this plate is? I would never have thought a dishwasher could get all that cheese and sauce off the plate with out rinsing it first. Same with the brownie pan it sat over night without rinsing!
