Last Saturday we had Rex’s family over for a fun Munch ‘n Movie night. I was so excited to be hosting a movie party along with some great tasting Werther’s Original Caramel Popcorn.

I couldn’t wait for Saturday night to come. We had some great snacks and also a movie I had been wanting to watch for awhile. Here is a bit about the movie Soul Surfer.

The Sony Pictures, family-friendly film, Soul Surfer SOUL SURFER is the inspiring true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack and courageously overcame all odds to become a champion again, through her sheer determination and unwavering faith. The film features an all-star cast, including AnnaSophia Robb and Helen Hunt, with Carrie Underwood in her film debut, and Dennis Quaid. In the wake of this life-changing event that took her arm and nearly her life, Bethany’s feisty determination and steadfast beliefs spur her toward an adventurous comeback that gives her the grit to turn her loss into a gift for others. Starring Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, AnnaSophia Robb, Lorraine Nicholson and Carrie Underwood.

When Saturday night came I had made up a great tasting snack to go along with the movie. Since there is a chill in the air I also had hot apple cider for who ever wanted it. I made some Caramel Popcorn Snack Mix - here is the recipe. It was so easy to do.

Ingredients
  • 8 cups Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn
  • 3 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twist
  • 1 cup M&M;'s
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and toss together

Here is Rex enjoying his snack. We don’t spend enough time with our families so it was so nice to have Rex’s sister and her family over. Everyone really enjoyed the Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn both just as is an the snack mix I made up.

If you are looking for a good movie you will love Soul Sufer both Tracie and I ended up crying during it. I love how the movie talked about faith and how that gets you through a tough time. I also love that this was a true story. Bethany is truly a remarkable person and we can all learn from her to never give up.

When the night was done - I had plenty of the Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn to send home with everyone. What I loved about the Werther’s Original® Caramel Popcorn is that it had a nice rich and creamy caramel flavor. Once you start eating it I had a hard time stopping. It also reminded me of a neighbor we had growing up that made caramel popcorn balls.

All and all everyone had a great night and we spent time with family and friends with some good memories of the time spent together. I can’t wait till the next time we can be together.

I always love to have some appetizers around in case friends drop in or I want a little snack watching a movie or a Packer game. I recent tried some great snacks from Farm Rich. They have a whole line of great sounding snacks. What I like about them is that they are easy to prepare and come in a bag large enough to feed a group of people.

IMG_1343 The first thing I tried was the Original Meatballs. These were so easy to use - like I said they come in a nice size bag so the first thing I did is add them to my Spaghetti sauce. The meat balls are made with ground beef and pork and seasoned to perfection. Since they are fully cooked they just needed to be heated through. I have also put them in a crock pot with BBQ sauce. They are so versatile you will want to have them on hand.

Here are the Mozzarella Bites - yummy mozzarella cheese surrounded by soft pizzeria dough. I love that they are bite size and they taste great by themselves or with pizza or spaghetti sauce for dipping. I made mine in the oven but they can be microwaveable - and they come in a big bag 44 oz - which serves about 15 people. What a great value.

These were my favorite Mozzarella Sticks ~ they are so yummy! They are made with 100% real mozzarella cheese and have alight breading that is seasoned perfectly. They taste better than what you get in the restaurant. I baked mine but you could also deep fry them. I also served them with pizza sauce. They didn’t last long with Rex and Joey there.

Farm Rich has 15 great snacks to enjoy anytime of the day. I noticed they even have a Crispy Dill Pickle. Farm Rich is great for entertaining, during a football game, after school or when you just want a snack for yourself.
