Today being Veterans Day we all think of the men and women who fight for our freedom. I wanted to share some exciting news from Spinrite’s Caron United: an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest Christmas stocking.
Help Families of the Fallen
Nearly 20,000 military children have tragically lost a parent in the line of service. This Veterans Day through Christmas 2015, the knitting and crocheting community comes together to help through Caron United’s campaign to build the world’s largest Christmas stocking, raising awareness and much-needed funds to help these families.
Knitters and crocheters can be part of this special cause by hand-crafting an individual blanket, which will come together to create the holiday stocking in a Christmas 2015 reveal. Proceeds from Caron United yarn used to create the blankets supports Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, whose mission is to provide college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty – and whose help changed the lives of the Kleppes yet again when the foundation stepped in to help send the boys to college.
You can go HERE to find more information on this project. You can get the pattern for both a knitted or crochet blanket and also order your yarn here. I am going to order my yarn today. I hope you will join me in this great project to help Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation.
