I have been looking for some new and fun crochet patterns so when I saw this book Learn Star Stitch Crochet™ I couldn’t wait to get it. It is a 32-page book that focuses on the simple and textured star stitch in seven fun-to-make projects. Like all of the book I have received the book is well written with step by step instructions on how to do the Star Stitch pattern and then also for each one of the patterns.
I love that the book includes patterns for both adults and children. The slippers are what I want to work on next. I have been practicing the stitch and it is pretty easy. The star stitch is a unique crochet stitch that is a two row pattern repeat. Row 1 is the star base row where the bottom half of the star is made, and in row 2, the star is completed. I can’t wait to see how my project turns out.
Jenny King, the designer of the book, resides in Queensland, Australia, and is one of the world’s most innovative and diverse crochet designers. Her work ranges from glamorous runway fashions to soft, felted dreadlock dolls and everything in between. Crocheting is her passion, and she considers herself very lucky to have turned her obsession into her profession. She has designed numerous crochet books for Annie’s in the past, including Fashion Wraps™, Figure Flattering Plus-Size Fashions™ and Bavarian Crochet on-the-Go™.
