I really am not a really a fruit lover. So when my Mom would make pies I was never to excited about it. I remember when my big brothers were living at home Mom would make 4 or 5 pies at a time. She would make apple or peach with a couple different toppings and everyone would love them except me. The pie I liked the best was her raspberry pie. I could not wait until she made it. We would pick the raspberries from the bushes in the garden and soon the pies would be baking. IMG_0379Even now when I go back to Wisconsin someone makes a raspberry pie for me to enjoy a piece of!

I haven’t had raspberry pie in a long time. I had to have my sisters hunt up the recipe for me. What made me think of the pie was this ProFreshionals Cut Fruit Bowl that is exclusively available at Bed Bath and Beyond and is made by Good Cook. What is so great about this bowl is that it is two bowls in one. The top bowl has holes in the bottom so the juice drains out into the bottom bowl. This will keep your fruit fresh longer. It has a snap on lid and the bowl will hold 7 quarts! You can keep cut up melon or fruit salad in your fridge for easy snacking. It’s also great for holding all my berries!

Steps for pie

I made my pie using raspberries, blueberries and marionberries mixed. I wish I would have had a few more berries but it still tasted great!

Berry Pie

4 cups berries (might need a few more need enough to fill the crust)

2/3 cup sugar

1/4 cup flour or wondra

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

1 can Evaporated Milk

1 pie crust

Place the berries in the pie crust. Then mix the rest of the ingredients together. Pour over the top of the berries. Bake pie at 400 degrees for about 35-45 minutes. Let cool. You can also use apples or peaches for this recipe.

Now doesn’t that look good? I loved the smell in the house while it was baking. You could really smell the cinnamon. I did cheat a bit and used a already made pie crust but it still tasted great!
