I love to make salads and have fresh veggies and fruits in the house but sometimes it is really hard to store them. I recent received this great set of Produce Keepers from Good Cook ProFreshionals brand and I love them!!!
Look how great these all look and think how easy they will be to see in the refrigerator. My favorite is the Tomato Keeper. I don’t eat like tomatos but my boyfriend does and we never use a whole one. This is perfect way to keep it fresh and not smashed in the veggie draw. The set also includes a Cantaloupe Keeper perfect for this time of year, Citrus Keeper, Green Pepper Keeper, Banana Keeper, Grapefruit Keeper, and Asparagus Keeper.
Now if I only eat half a banana on my cereal I can keep the other part in the keeper fresh till the next day. Normally the other half got thrown away or put in the freezer for banana bread which I don’t ever seem to get made.
I also got to use the Tomato Keeper last night.
I had a left overs from a pot roast I made on Sunday. So I didn’t want to waste it so I made shredded beef taco’s with all the trimmings. I don’t eat tomato’s so half was left and I put it in the tomato keeper.
Shredded Beef Taco’s
Left over pot roast
1 package dry taco seasoning
1 medium onion
I put all of the ingredients in the crock pot and cooked on low for 4-5 hours. then shredded the meat and mixed it up.
I warmed flour taco tortillas in the oven for a few minutes. Topped the tortillas with the beef mixture and all your favorite toppings. Cheese, green onion, tomato, avocado, lettuce, black olives, sour cream, and taco sauce.
Add sides of rice and beans to complete your meal. It’s good made up as a rice bowl too!
