Sundays are always a day I like to make a good family dinner - even if it is only Rex, Joey and I. This past week I made some fried chicken. I used this new to me breading from House-Autry Mills #SouthernCraftedGoodness. Normally I would do the breading and bake it in the oven but this weekend I wanted to make fried Chicken.
What I like to do with my chicken is let it soak in buttermilk - I think it helps give the chicken a bit more flavor and also helps it stay moist when I fry it. After soaking it for about 1-2 hours I coated in the House-Autry Mills Chicken Breader. I then fried it in oil. This is one of the best coatings I have tried in a long gone. It turned a nice golden brown and was nice and crispy. It had a great flavor and I can’t wait to use it on other things. One of my favorite things to fry is mushrooms - I am going to try making some cheese sticks too.
