Those of you who know me know that I am weird about making sure my produce has been washed. I rinse and spin my lettuce three times before I use it. I was excited to see the new packaging for NatureSweet® Tomatoes. The packaging is 100 percent recyclable and features a re-sealable lid with ventilation holes in both the top and bottom of the container, making the rinse and storage process a breeze for consumers.

NatureSweet® tomatoes are greenhouse grown in a controlled environment, from the seeds, to the growing medium, to the water that is used. NatureSweet® tomatoes begin with seeds that have been selected for their superior taste and all plants are nurtured with a “secret recipe” of water and nutrients. You can taste the difference.

NatureSweet® come in a number of varieties including Cherubs®, SunBursts™, Glorys™, Cherriots™, Jubilees™ and Constellation™. We have tried a number of them and I do love the containers. You just peel open the top to rinse the tomatoes or to take out the tomatoes you want to use. I have noticed that the tomatoes last a lot longer in this container than others I have purchased.

I am not a big fan of tomatoes but Rex loves them - he likes when I add them to his salads and pasta. He even eats the NatureSweet® Glorys and Cherubs right out of the container. The NatureSweet® website gives you lots of recipes so you can try the tomatoes in a variety of ways.

You can find NatureSweet® products nationwide at your local grocery store. I have found them at Albertsons and Safeway here in Oregon.
