Last week I was invited to take a “behind the counter” tour of Papa Murphy’s here in Portland, OR. If you are from here it is the one on 122nd in Portland. I first have to tell you I had problems with my camera so I only have one picture but I still want to tell you about my visit. There was 6 of us in the group – we are all bloggers and part of #PapaMurphysMoms.
The tour was given by the Manager of the location Derric and also the District Manager Tiffany. They happen to be brother and sister and both had started working for Papa Murphy’s when they were 16 and worked their way up in the company.
The picture is the line where they actually put your pizza together. They have the description cards and the amounts of each item to put on the pizza’s. All the items are weighed and measured so each pizza is made the same. My favorite thing about Papa Murphy’s is that you can add or subtract any of the ingredients and it is made just the way you like it. You have to be fast to work at this Papa Murphy’s they make 500+ pizza on a weekend night.
In the back they chop all of the vegetables, shred the cheese, make the pizza dough and the cookie dough. The fresh produce is delivered twice a week. I couldn’t believe how clean everything was even though everyone was busy working.
After the tour we were able to try their new gluten free pizza crust, their new garlic bread and the Angus Steak & Roasted Garlic pizza. I thought everything was great tasting. I really enjoyed the Angus Steak Pizza.
Tiffany let us know that Papa Murphy’s loves to help the community and help with fund raisers. If you have a group that wants to do a fund raiser check with your local store. She also said that they love to hire kids in high school and college and are very flexible with the staff hours. After taking the tour and talking with Tiffany I think it would be a great first job!
I had a lot of fun on the “behind the counter” tour and learned a lot.
I have a couple coupons for a free pizza from Tiffany – but they are only good at these three locations in Portland:
- 116th & Halsey
- 122nd & Division
- 82nd & Powell
I also have a couple Customer Appreciation cards that can be used anywhere ~ the card has 10 coupons on it including Free cookie dough and cheesy bread along with discounts on a number of pizzas. The good thing about your Papa Murphy coupons is they never expired.
If you would like to win one of the above prizes you must be 18+ US (48). Leave a comment what is your favorite pizza from Papa Murphy’s. Extra entry for each way you follow Kaisy Daisy’s Corner. Giveaway ends Oct 9, 2014. Enter daily for more chance to win.
