The “Bling” Fairies of Junkett Falls Brings Quirky Creatures to Life

Maureen Sky weaves a magical tale with breathtakingly beautiful illustrations

Bernardston, MS – Featuring tiny creatures that live with people jewelry, Maureen Sky’s artful book is a fantastical world conjured up for the perusal of readers. Exploring valuable lessons in life as well as emotions and several virtues that make the journey life-affirming, The Bling Fairies of Junkett Falls is an entertaining and enlightening read.

Inspired by the author’s knowledge about Bakelite jewelry, Bling Fairies are little creatures that thrive within jewelry boxes. One of them is Velvy, a young teenage fairy preparing to do a “spin” – a coming-of-age event akin to graduation that is all about honor, respect and accomplishment. Along the way, she encounters some very hard situations, but she does not face them alone, for the others come to her aid to help. The colorful illustrations provide the perfect visual that definitely makes this story come to life. Humorous and vibrantly written, The Bling Fairies of Junkett Falls is no ordinary fantastical tale, for it teaches some very valuable lessons in a brilliantly depicted, unique world.

This book is a testament to the notion that people must look for the humor in everything, and that looking at things differently might just provide the kind of clarity needed to thrive in life’s springs. The Bling Fairies of Junkett Falls is a fun and memorable read perfect for sharing within the family.

New Book Reviewer:

I am so excited!!  I have someone new helping me with book reviews.  My niece Jonah from Stevens Point Wisconsin will be helping me do reviews.  She loves to read ~ Grandma Peters would be so thrilled to know that you read like you do!  Here is her first review.

Jonah’s Review:

The Bling Fairies of Junkett Falls is a book that is geared for the 8-12 year old audience.  It is a whimsical adventure of the fairies that reside in our jewelery boxes.

The Bling Fairies has imaginative and creative characters.  I like the ideas for the story lines.  However, the stories are so intermingled that it makes the book confusing to follow. I think the chapter layout the author portrayed is a great idea but perhaps have one book per fairy and their adventures with the other fairies playing a lesser role until their own book and make it into a series.  I applaud the imagination of this book taking on a viewpoint of fairies within our jewlery and will think of it as I put on my own jewelry.
