IMG_1202I love when I find something that I have not tried before and love the products!  I tried a couple things form Earth Balance and I was very happy with them.  All of Earth Balance products are plant-based, vegan, made without artificial ingredients or hydrogenated oils.  They are also free of gluten, lactose and eggs. Earth Balance has a whole line of products including spreads, soymilk, dressings, baking sticks, nut butter, culinary spreads, and snacks.

The first product I tried was the coconut & peanut spread and it was really good.  I was surprised how much I liked it. It was a great combination.  It was smooth and creamy and tasted great on toast and bagels.  I also added it to my protein drink and the flavor was great.  I think adding it to a stir-fry will be the next thing I try with it. It would be great in cookies too!

The second product I tried was the Original spread. Now I am a girl from Wisconsin so only normally eat real butter.  Earth Balance spread was such a big surprise at how much of a butter flavor it had.  It was great on toast.  The texture was creamy and very spreadable.  I liked it for cooking to – it was great for browning onions, garlic, and mushrooms in a pan.  I think it will have a place in my kitchen from now on.

You can find Earth Balance products at many local stores including Thriftway, Whole Food and Zupans.  You can also connect with earth balance on Facebook and Twitter.
