If you’ve got a passion for cooking, you should count yourself very lucky. Many people spend a lifetime trying to find something that they feel truly passionate about. But what happens when your passion for cooking starts to wane? Maybe you’re stuck in a rut and cooking the same recipes time and time again. Or perhaps you’re finding it difficult to muster up the energy and enthusiasm to cook each day. Whatever it is, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is gone for good. If you’re eager to rekindle your cooking passion, take a look at these easy ideas to get you back in the kitchen in no time.

Host a dinner party

Dinner parties are a great way of socialising with your loved ones over a delicious meal. You’ll be eager to impress your guest with your culinary skills, which can give you the boost you need to rediscover your passion. Instead of using the dinner party menu you’ve used countless times, consider trying something out of your comfort zone. You could do a theme night based on a country or decade. You might enjoy the challenge of preparing an entirely vegetarian or vegan menu. You could also prepare multiple smaller dishes instead of the traditional three courses. This will make your cooking experience feel less mundane and more imaginative and creative. Your guests are bound to love your party and be eager for you to host another.

Eat out somewhere new

Visiting a new restaurant in your local area is another way to broaden your cooking horizons. It can introduce you to different cooking styles, ingredients and techniques which you might not have tried before. So instead of always going to the same places, start researching new restaurants and cafes you can visit. Many food establishments offer cooking classes which you could take part in too. Use Google maps to see what restaurants are in your local area. Look for somewhere that is completely out of the ordinary for you. You might be surprised at how much you enjoy this style of food and want to learn more about creating it at home.

Use the internet

The internet is an incredible tool that has endless cooking resources that can help you rebuild your cooking passion. You can take a look at the YouTube page for Hampton Creek or Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay. You might enjoy creating a cooking board on Pinterest where you can store recipe and snack ideas. A quick Google search can also help you discover blogs and tutorials for a whole host of exciting dishes and cooking styles. If you’ve got a favourite chef, visit their website to see what new recipes and cooking tips they have to offer. You can bookmark or print out the recipes that pique your interest. Try at least one of the recipes you find each week to help you stay enthusiastic.

These ideas can help you get inspired and excited about your meal times again. So why not try one or two of them today to help you get started.

I drink a lot of water and after awhile it gets a bit boring – that is until I received this Infused Water Pitcher #GearUltimate.  It is a BPA-free, food safe, shatterproof acrylic pitcher. It has a tube in the middle that you can place fruit in.  The fruit helps give your water a more interesting taste.  I like to use lemon and limes in mine. The fruit will last a couple days in the pitcher. I find that having flavored water in the fridge all the time helps me make sure I stay hydrated.

The pitcher holds 93 ounces of liquid so it is great for entertaining. It has a nice sleek design and your guest will love that you serve them something so refreshing.  You can use all kinds of fruit in the center – maybe watermelon, limes or cherries.  You can also mix and match your fruit.

The pitcher is easy to clean either in warm soapy water or the dishwasher.   You can find your own Infused Water Pitcher on the link below from Amazon.com.  It is the perfect hostess gift!

The national bestselling author of Caught Read-Handed revisits Fort Myers Beach, Florida, where the proprietors of a local bookstore café occasionally take a stab at solving murder…

At their seaside Read ‘Em and Eat bookstore café, Sassy Cabot and Bridgy Mayfield offer fresh scones, great books, and excellent detective work…

With their book club season wrapping up with The Florida Life of Thomas Edison, Sassy and Bridgy decide to take their group on a day trip to the beautiful Edison and Ford Winter Estates. After a lovely excursion, the club returns to the café for lunch and a book discussion, but the group falls silent after Oscar is found dead in his van. My Review:

I really enjoyed Read to Death by Terrie Farley Moran. There is a lot going on so you need to pay attention while you read ~ it took me to the end to figure out who the murderer was!  Which is just how I like a cozy mystery to be.

I really like Read Em and Eat and would love to visit the it.  The characters were well described and fit the story, I would love to be part of the book club.  Sassy Cabot and Bridgy Mayfield sound like lots of fun to spend time with!  I can’t wait for the next book.

Synopsis

Anna just wants to earn enough money on the side to buy into the bakery, Callie’s Cakes, where she works together with her best nerd pal, Callie. The last thing she expects to see when she walks into Arthur’s apartment to do some moonlighting is a blood bath. Callie’s ready to jump into the investigation of Arthur’s murder, and she’s bringing another bakery worker, Kristie, into their hijinks whether Kristie wants to or not. But things aren’t as they seem. There are gang affiliations, illegal gambling dens, and ladies of the night to wade through. Will Anna and Callie discover who murdered Arthur, or will Callie’s detective boyfriend and Anna’s self-appointed protector put a stop to such aspirations?

Come join us at Callie’s Cakes, where murder investigations are on the menu, but make sure to bring your own baker, because Anna’s a bit preoccupied at the moment.

Warning: This is NOT your mom’s cozy mystery. Bring Your Own Baker may be a ‘clean’ read, but if gangs, illegal gambling, and pimps make you turn your nose up at your e-reader, you might want to skip this one. Although you’ll be missing some sizzling chemistry between Anna and her protector. Not to mention a whole bunch of witty dialogue.

I can’t wait to read this – sounds like it would be very interesting. What do you think?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

I grew up reading everything I could get my hands on from my mom’s Harlequin romances to Nancy Drew to Little Women. When I wasn’t flipping pages in a library book, I was penning horrendous poems, writing songs no one should ever sing, or drafting stories which have thankfully been destroyed. College and a stint in the U.S. Army came along, robbing me of free time to write and read, although I did manage every once in a while to sneak a book into my rucksack between rolled up socks, MRIs, t-shirts, and cold weather gear. A few years into my legal career, I was exhausted, fed up, and just plain done. I quit my job and sat down to write a manuscript, which I promptly hid in the attic after returning to the law. Another job change, this time from lawyer to B&B owner and I was again fed up and ready to scream I quit, which is incredibly difficult when you own the business. Thus, I shut the B&B during the week and in the off-season and started writing. Several books later I find myself in Istanbul writing full-time.

Where can I find a contractor near me now? This is a question you will be asking yourself if you are getting ready to have a large renovation done on your house. You have determined exactly what you want to do. The only thing left is to hire a professional contractor to make your vision become a reality. However, there are many contractors who work in your area. You are not sure how to go about choosing one for the work that you need to have completed. Here are some of the clear indicators that a contractor has what it takes to build your renovation correctly.

1. Certifications

A contractor that has all the proper certifications is someone who you can trust to do a good job. These certifications mean that the contractor has been able to pass all of the tests that the state requires. This is why you must ask to see proof that a contractor has received all of your state’s certifications before you decide to hire that person. Otherwise, there is no way to tell how much construction knowledge the person has. You could be hiring someone who has no idea how to build the particular renovation that you need to have completed. Seeing the certifications with your own eyes is the only way you can rest easy.

2. A spotless safety record

There are many things that can go wrong during a renovation job if the proper safety precautions are not taken by the contractor and his crew. This is why it is imperative that you find a contractor who has an outstanding track record when it comes to safety. You need to know that the contractor you hire will not be cutting corners in terms of safety in order to complete the job in a shorter amount of time. A contractor’s safety record can be found online.

3. A great rating

The first thing you will need to do before you call a contractor is to check his or her rating with the Better Business Bureau. This will give you a very good idea about who this person is. There is a good chance that you will have problems with contractors who have a very low rating and many complaints filed against them. These are clearly people who should be avoided. You should only hire a contractor with a high rating.

Are you looking for a new speaker that works inside and outside?  You may want to try the AYL SoundFit Plus Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker #AYLSPEAKERS.  It is perfect poolside with your friends.  It is very powerful and has great sound.  It is water proof, dust proof and shock proof.  You can use it in the house, by the pool,  at the beach, camping or biking with out worry of getting it wet.

It was very easy to pair to my iPhone, just look for the blue flashing light.  Included with the speaker is a micro-USB charging cable, an aux cable, and a user manual.   The speaker will charges in about 3 hours and the music will last about 11-12 hours!  One of the nice features is that you can go from music to taking hands-free calls in a snap.

We are going disc golfing this weekend – and the AYL SoundFit Plus Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker is going with us.  I can’t wait for my friends to see it!  If you would like to purchase your own speaker – you can use the link below from Amazon.com.

Who brings lunch to work every day?  I do!  I am always looking for containers to bring my lunch to work in.  I like containers that have deep compartments so I can bring a variety of items without them all mixing together.  That is why I like the  Bento Lunch Boxes from Gallaher Hill Products #GallagherHillProducts.  These containers have 3 different compartments.  They come in a package of 10 containers –  on Sunday night I can pack lunch for a few days for both Rex and I.  They stack great in the fridge or freezer.

The containers are made out of durable BPA free and FDA approved plastic.  You can tell just by looking at them that they are made to last.  The lids stay on tight and I don’t worry about them leaking.  They are reusable – just wash in warm soapy water or put in the dishwasher.  You can make up your meals ahead of time and freeze them.  The containers can also go into the microwave.

The Gallaher Hill Product containers are really great for anyone who brings their lunch to work, brings snack to the park or play ground and for people who want to save money!  The containers are reusable.  They are also recyclable. If you want to purchase your own Bento Lunch Boxes you can do so on the link below from Amazon.com.
