by Meg Benjamin

BLURB:

Monica McKellar, associate producer of Finding Mr. Right, is desperate. One of the show’s bachelors has bailed one week before shooting starts. She not only needs a replacement ASAP, he has to get the temperamental bachelorette’s stamp of approval.

Fortunately there’s a hot guy right under her nose who’s a perfect fit. Unfortunately, he pushes all her hot buttons. Until the show’s over, her hands—and every other part of her body—are tied.

When Paul DeWitt signed on to write for the reality show, “Bachelor #10” wasn’t supposed to be in his job description. He fully expects to be cut early on, which will free him to focus on the real object of his attraction. Monica.

Instead, he’s a finalist, and they’re all packed in an SUV climbing the Continental Divide, headed for Salt Box, Colorado. Where stampeding horses, vindictive tabloid editors, and one capricious bachelorette’s waffling over suitors may conspire to end Paul and Monica’s romance before it even starts.

Excerpt:

All around them the crowd screamed. Paul ran toward the gate, along with three or four other men, aware of the crescendo of sound as he reached it. He pushed through to see Ronnie crumpled on the ground, the horse galloping by, seemingly inches from her body.

He started toward her, only to be shoved aside as someone ran in front of him. Someone else cannon-balled into his back.

“Ronnie,” Monica cried, trying to push by him.

He grabbed her around the waist, pulling her away. “They’ve got her. They’ll bring her back inside. You need to get back behind the fence.”

He had a confused impression of someone rolling the washtub out of the way, and then they were back in the walkway again, surrounded by hysterical people, Monica’s body pressed tight against his.

“Where is she?” Glenn shouted. “Who’s got her? Is she okay?”

“Why the hell didn’t she let go?” Al Monteith shook his head, while Nona looked grim.

The gate opened again and Billy Joe stepped through, his arms full of Ronnie.

“Ronnie,” Monica cried, stepping toward her. “Oh God, somebody get a doctor.”

Slowly, slowly, one white hand fluttered up from Ronnie’s side to rest on Billy Joe’s chest. Even more slowly, her eyes opened.

All of a sudden, Paul had the oddest feeling that she’d been rehearsing for this particular scene most of her life.

She turned her head, staring up into Billy Joe’s face. And then her lips quirked up in an exhausted smile. “My hero,” she murmured.

My Review:

Finding Mr. Right Now was a good book.  I loved the characters and the story line.  The first Finding Mrs. Right had Ronnie as one of the contestants ~  When she wasn’t picked as the winner ~ the viewers were not happy.  They kept writing in and wondering what they were they were going to do about it.  So they decided to create a Finding Mr. Right.  When days before the filming was going to start one of the bachelors backed out and went back home they had to scramble to find someone else in a hurry.  They talked one of the writers into being the number 10 bachelor – he didn’t want to but figured he would be one of the early ones to leave.  You will need to read “Finding Mr. Right Now” to find out what happened!

Giveaway:

Meg will be awarding a $25 Amazon or B/N GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour. Make sure to follow the tour and comment; the more they comment, the better their chances of winning. The tour dates can be found here:

Up To I DoAbout the Book

Emerson Sinclair, twenty-seven year old hotel heiress, has said yes. With just over a year to plan her extravagant, over the top nuptials to Logan Worthington, it’s all hands on deck with the wedding plans. A Sinclair marrying into the Worthington family is the talk of their small New Hampshire town, and ideas include filming the wedding for a TV segment. But as the items get checked off the list, plans start to go … not as planned. From not getting a designer dress to a selfish bridesmaid and unaccountable best man, Emerson is afraid her wedding will be more a joke than anything.
When both her mother and sister seemingly begin to lose interest in her wedding plans in favor of their own personal lives, Emerson fears her big day will turn into the forgotten wedding. With the pressure to pull off a beautiful and elegant event that everyone expects from their respectable families, Emerson starts to forget the reason why she is saying I Do in the first place.

LUCKY’S CHOICE
The Last Riders #7
Jamie Begley
Releasing July 29th, 2015
Young Ink Press
Life dealt him a dead man’s hand.

Lucky had  always led a life of service, always putting his life on the line for someone else, managing to survive by pure luck and skill. After bringing an end to a multi-state drug ring, he was finally able to live the life he had wanted as a Last Rider.

A good man would walk away and not touch the curvy woman who had been tugging on his heartstrings. Lucky wasn’t a good man. Therefore, the bad-ass biker in him had a choice: once again become the man he had pretended to be and stake his claim or take the devil’s highway.

Some girls had all the luck.

Willa wasn’t one of them. All she wanted to do was give a home to the children she had made orphans. Instead, she found herself needing help from the man who had left the pulpit behind to embrace a life of sin.

Painfully shy and withdrawn, she wanted a quiet life, a simple man, and well-behaved children. The last thing she had ever expected was for Lucky to want her size twenty body and show her a passion that would lead her straight to hell.

Excerpt

“Did you see who did this?” Lucky heard the accusation in his own voice, but it was too late to regain his temper as Willa paled. He was having a shit time with women so far today.

Willa walked toward him, the five children following behind her.

“Is something wrong …?” Her words trailed off as her eyes caught sight of his bike.

“We just came outside. Chrissy and Caroline saw a stray cat when they were playing outside earlier. They wanted to feed it…”

Lucky’s eyes went to the tabby cat at the side of Willa’s house that was contentedly eating tuna from a can. Then he studied the children. “Are you sure you didn’t hear or see anything?”

“Jenna’s house is closer to your bike. It would be easily seen from her living room window. If you didn’t see anything, why would we?” Willa said.

Lucky’s face turned red in embarrassment and anger at her logic. “Because I’m not the one who’s constantly looking out the window.”

Once again, Willa was the one turning bright red. “I’ll go get something to clean the paint off.”

She hurried inside her house, leaving him alone with five kids staring at him with varying expressions—from the overtly hostile glares of the two older girls to the three younger ones scowling at him.

“We didn’t see who touched your bike,” Leanne stated, staring him directly in the eyes.

Lucky knew the children fairly well from when he had been undercover as pastor. Leanne and Sissy were sisters; their mother Georgia had been a member of his congregation who had recently been killed when she was incarcerated for setting a fire in The Last Rider’s clubhouse. Shade and his wife Lily could have easily died if not for the precautions that Viper, the club president, had taken.

“I just asked if anyone had seen anything, Leanne. Maybe one of you put the other up to doing it?”

A firestorm was unleashed at his words.

“We don’t put each other up to doing stuff that will get us in trouble!” Sissy snapped. The oldest girl, at seventeen, had been hit the hardest by her mother’s death.

Lucky guiltily admitted to himself that he was wrong. This wasn’t a prank a kid would play.

“What does the word mean?” Charlie, the eight-year-old, questioned as he held his younger sister Caroline’s hand while his other sister, Chrissy, stared at him, sucking her thumb.

The three younger children Willa was fostering were Lewis’s, Georgia’s brother, who had also been raising his nieces after her death. Lewis had been determined to marry Willa to help care for his large family. The sick bastard had gotten his wish; he just wasn’t around to benefit from it. Willa had shot and killed him when he had come to her house in a rage and attacked not only her but also Rachel, who had tried to help her.

“It means that Pastor Dean isn’t acting like a pastor anymore.” Sissy smirked at him.

Lucky knew her age and recent difficulties were responsible for her attitude, but it didn’t keep him from snarling back at her. “You have a problem with me, Sissy?”

“I have a problem with you treating Willa the way you just did.”

“Willa needs to learn to take up for herself. She doesn’t need another person taking up for her. Certainly not a seventeen-year-old.”

Caroline’s foot kicked out, striking him in the leg.

“Stop it!” Lucky had long since lost control of the embarrassing situation.

“I was born in a small town in Kentucky. My family began poor, but worked their way to owning a restaurant. My mother was one of the best cooks I have ever known, and she instilled in all her children the value of hard work, and education.
Taking after my mother, I’ve always love to cook, and became pretty good if I do say so myself. I love to experiment and my unfortunate family has suffered through many. They now have learned to steer clear of those dishes. I absolutely love
the holidays and my family puts up with my zany decorations.
For now, my days are spent writing, writing, and writing. I have two children who both graduated this year from college. My daughter does my book covers, and my son just tries not to blush when someone asks him about my books.
Currently I am writing five series of books- The Last Riders, The VIP Room, Predators MC, Biker Bitches, and The Dark Souls.
All my books are written for one purpose- the enjoyment others find in them, and the expectations of my fans that inspire me to give it my best.”

I had been wanting to get Rex some Earbuds for his birthday, because he was using some that were pretty old and he complained about them all the time.  I was excited to get these FSL AI13 Heavy Bass Earbuds so I could give them to him. Well he saw the box long before his birthday and is now happily using them!

The flat cable earphones offer stunning stereo sound and a deep, booming bass, providing an amazing overall listening experience for their size. With durable materials used in manufacturing and a robust design, these are a perfect option if you’re looking for exercise headphones or just some casual listening.

Rex says that they are very comfortable and fit snug.  He takes MAX to and from work and listens to music with them.  He says the sound is good and very clear.  He uses the earbuds with both his iPod and his Android phone. I think this was one of his favorite products that I have reviewed.

If you would like to purchase your own FSL AI13 Heavy Bass Earbuds you can do so on the link below from Amazon.com.

I don’t know when this happened but I am turning old!  My eyesight isn’t as good as it once was and because of that I have to wear glasses and things still aren’t always clear. That is why I was excited to try this new  Epica Large Digit Timer / Stopwatch.  For count down (timer) mode, set the minutes and seconds you wish to elapse before the alarm sounds, then press the Start/Stop button. For count up (stopwatch) mode, clear the settings to 00:00 by pressing the Min. and Sec. buttons simultaneously, then press Start/Stop. To stop or pause the stopwatch, press Start/Stop; elapsed time will remain displayed until you clear it. The Epica’s maximum reading is 99 minutes, 59 seconds.

I really like using the timer ~  I do a lot of baking and my old timer was hard to read. The Epica Large Digit Timer has a magnet so I can put it on the fridge and it also has a fold-out stand if I want to put it on the table or counter.  It uses 1 AAA battery.  The alarm is nice and loud and I can hear it in the next room over a loud TV that the boys are watching.  I also like that it beeps for a full minute if I don’t shut it off sooner.

If you would like to purchase your own Epica Large Digit Timer/ Stopwatch you can do so on the link below from Amazon.com.

Excerpt:

Luc stifled the smile, letting his former scowl resettle on his face. If Lopez thought he was being played, there was no way he’d go for it.

“Hey, so Cap said the hot reporter would be doing ride-alongs with us. That’ll be cool,” Lopez said.

“Seriously? You hate ride-alongs,” Luc said.

Lopez held up a finger. “No, I hate the dippy, I-wanna-be-a-cop-someday type of ride-alongs. Those stupid kids are always offering advice when they don’t know shit about shit. But Ms. Sims will be a nice kind of ride-along. Just sitting, observing…looking fine…”

Luc withheld the snort. If Lopez thought Ava wouldn’t be offering plenty of unsolicited advice, he had an unpleasant surprise. He doubted mind your own business was in her DNA, not to mention it was a blatant contradiction of her job description.

“Hot or not, same rules apply,” Luc said, just to set the record straight. “She can come on the tame ride-alongs. That’s it.”

“Shit, and here I was planning to bring her to a shoot-out,” Lopez mused.

Luc flung the paperclip back at his partner, nailing him in the forehead. “Hey. So, I need you to be my wingman.”

Lopez rubbed the red spot to the right of his temple with a knowing grin. “Ah, so you do want a piece of Miss Media.”

Yes.

No!

Damn it.

“Let me rephrase,” Luc said, sitting back in his chair. “I need you to be my reverse wingman. Do whatever you need to keep that plastic, nosy diva away from me.”

There was a light tap on his shoulder before a female voice spoke up. “Gonna be hard when this nosy diva is hell-bent on getting all up in your business.”

Whoops.

“Nice job, Wingman,” Luc said with a glare at Lopez, whose grin indicated that he’d definitely seen Ava approaching and had opted not to mention it.

Luc pivoted around in his chair so he faced Ava. Only he was sitting, and she was standing, which put him exactly at eye level with Ava’s slim hips.

Generally speaking, Luc liked a little more curve to his women, but apparently his preferences were shifting, because he couldn’t help his sex-starved brain from thinking that Ava Sims’s hips were the perfect size for his hands to wrap around, his fingers holding her still as he prepared to plunge into her…

The fantasy dissolved into a million pieces when she opened her sassy mouth again.

“You know…” her voice was considering, her finger tapping idly against her lips. “I’d always heard that the whole man-in-uniform thing was supposed to be a turn-on. Guess it’s an acquired taste.”
