This time I am using Adovia Sulfur Soap.  It is made from minerals and sulfur from the Dead Sea.  The minerals from the Dead Sea are so good for your skin and help make your skin look and feel better.

The sulfur soap however, when used on a gradually increasing level, does not cause dry skin as it is infused with lush Olive Oil and aloe vera, as well as sought-after Dead Sea minerals. Softly yet thoroughly cleansing skin with 3 percent sulfur content old skin cells are removed and pores are unclogged. Harmful impurities and oils can embed themselves into the deepest levels of our epidermis and this is one of the best sulfur soaps on the market to target and dissolve them. To help keep skin supple and hydrated, Adovia Sulfur Soap is also packed with Palm and Palm Kernal Oil as well the already mentioned Olive oil and Aloe Vera.

I liked using the soap in the shower – but it is suggested that you start using this soap slowly as it is different than other soap products.   During the summer I would use it at night in because I would want to make sure that all of my pores are unclogged after being warm and sweating during the day.  My skin felt much clearer and looked good.

If you would like to purchase Adovia Sulfur Soap you can do so below on the link at Amazon.com.

Baja Fish Taco Tortas with Smoky Cilantro Slaw

INGREDIENTS

2 cups shredded cabbage mix

2 Tablespoons ranch dressing

1 teaspoon chipotle hot sauce

1/4 cup cilantro leaves, roughly chopped

2 ripe avocados, peeled and pit removed

4 Tablespoons salsa verde

1 lime

1 pound cod

1 teaspoon cumin

4 torta or bolillo rolls, split in half

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a medium mixing bowl combine the shredded cabbage, ranch dressing, hot sauce, chopped cilantro and ½ teaspoon salt. Stir until the slaw is well mixed.

2. In a small bowl place the peeled avocado, salsa verde and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Using a fork, roughly mash and mix together.

3. Cut the lime in half. Take one of the halves and cut it into wedges to serve with the finished tortas.

4. Heat 2 Tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. While the pan is heating sprinkle the cod with the cumin, ½ teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of pepper. When the oil is hot, add the fish to the pan and cook for 3-5 minutes. Flip the fish and continue to cook for 3-5 minutes or until the fish flakes easily and is opaque. Remove the pan from the heat and squeeze the half of lime over the fish.

5. To assemble, place the halved torta rolls on each plate. Spread each of the torta bottom evenly with the avocado spread, divide the fish evenly between each and then top each with the slaw. Serve with lime wedges.

On Tuesday, September 30th, Jill’s newest Lucky Harbor novel He’s So Fine hits shelves. To celebrate, the author is giving away a Lucky Harbor prize pack including several titles from the series and a signed tote. I love the Lucky Harbor series – If you haven’t read them you need to!

He's So Fine

Book: He’s So Fine

Author: Jill Shalvis

Publisher: Grand Central Publishing

Release Date: September 30, 2014

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Summary

For Olivia Bentley, Lucky Harbor is more than the town where she runs her new vintage shop. It’s the place where folks are friendly to strangers-and nobody knows her real name. Olivia does a good job of keeping her past buried, not getting too cozy with anyone . . . until she sees a man drowning. Suddenly she’s rushing into the surf, getting up close and personal with the hottest guy she’s ever laid hands on.

Charter boat captain Cole Donovan has no problem with a gorgeous woman throwing her arms around his neck in an effort to “save” him. In fact, he’d like to spend a lot more time skin-to-skin with Olivia. He’s just not expecting that real trouble is about to come her way. Will it bring her deeper into Cole’s heart, or will it be the end of Olivia’s days in little Lucky Harbor?

Excerpt

“Dry off,” Cole said, and stepped back from Olivia.

She nodded but didn’t move.

“Olivia?” he asked.

Her face was a mask of misery. “Mmmy arms won’t wwwork.”

Shit. He quickly and gently pushed her back down to the bench, sat at her side, and began to pile blankets over the top of them both.

“Wwhat are you ddoing?”

“Sharing my body heat,” he said.

“I cccan’t feel any hhheat.”

“You will.” Beneath the blankets, he reached for the towel she still had wrapped around her. “Don’t freak,” he warned. “I’m just going to remove the wet towel and pull you into me.”

She opened her mouth, but using her sluggishness to his benefit, Cole quicklystripped the towel away from her, wrapping his arms around her, pulling her into him as two things happened simultaneously. One, she squeaked. Probably trying to formulate her next threat.

And two—holy shit—he realized she was completely, totally, one hundred percent naked beneath the layer of blankets.

And pissed. “Yyyour pants!” she gasped. “Thththey’re cccold!”

“Sorry, but I’m trying to do the right thing here,” he said through clenched teeth. Jesus. He couldn’t see a thing below her neck, but he could sure as hell feel her. His hands were on her hip and low on her back, respectively, not touching anything he shouldn’t be, but damn she was soft, and at the feel of her, his brain clicked off. Just completely flatlined.

Here is one of my favorite kitchen tools. I often wonder how I got along without it. It is a Propresser Garlic Press made from Stainless Steel.  I love to cook and when doing so garlic is used in a lot of my recipes. In the past I would cut up the garlic and then smooch it with the flat side of a knife.  Not any more I just put the garlic clove in the basket and press the handles together – out comes the minced garlic!

Cleanup is a breeze – you just flip up the Propresser Garlic Press’s basket, rinse it under your faucet, and you’re done! It is easy to store and in my kitchen gets used all most daily.

Here are some of the benefits of using the Propresser Garlic Press:

  • No more garlic smelling hands
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to clean up
  • Large basket for garlic clove to fit in
  • Heavy duty consturction
  • Made from 100% stainless steel so no rusting
  • Looks strong

I gave one of these to one of my friends and she raved on and on about how much she likes to use it.  Just like me she loves to cook and says this was one of the best gifts she ever received.  If you would like to buy your own Propresser Garlic Press or buy one for a gift you can purchase it below at Amazon.com. It will be a kitchen tool that you will use a lot!

Beef wellington used to be an extremely popular dish some years ago. It’s lost its popularity over the years, but it can still be popular on a cold day. It makes for great comfort food! Read on to find out how to make this dish the easy way:

For the Sauce You’ll Need:

  • 300 ml of beef stock.
  • 200 ml of your favourite red wine.

For the Rest You’ll Need:

  • 1 egg, beaten for glazing.
  • Plain flour.
  • All butter pastry.
  • Slices of ham.
  • Thyme leaves.
  • Chestnut mushrooms, chopped.
  • 25g of butter.
  • Porcini mushrooms.
  • 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil.

  1. Start off by seasoning the beef with a little black pepper. Heat up your oil in a frying pan, and sear the meat for around 30 seconds. Leave it to cool.
  2. Soak your porcini mushrooms in a cup of boiling water until they are soft. Remove the liquid, dry your mushrooms, and chop them up small. Keep the liquid you soaked them in.
  3. Heat up your butter, and add your mushrooms and thyme. Cook this until it’s golden and the pan isn’t wet anymore. Leave it to cool. Keep a quarter of mushrooms in the pan.
  4. Use clingfilm to cover the area you’re working. Place your ham on top, and then spread with 3 quarters of the mushroom mixture you made earlier. Sit your meat on top of this and spread it with the rest of the mushrooms. Roll the ham around the beef using some clingfilm, then wrap tightly and pop in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  5. Put aside a quarter of your pastry. Flour your surface, and then roll the rest of it into a square big enough to wrap your fillet. Trim it if you need to, to neaten it up. The edges that will be joined should be thinner.
  6. Take the clingfilm off the beef and position in the centre of your pastry. Wrap it up with the beef, making sure the edges meet. Brush with beaten egg. The ends should be folded as you’d fold a parcel.
  7. Transfer this to a greased tray. Roll out the rest of the pastry and cut into shapes in order to decorate your beef wellington. Brush it all over with egg, apply your decorations, and repeat. You can then chill this for up to 12 hours, but it should be left for at least 20 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven. Once heated, roast your wellington for 10 minutes, reduce the heat and cook for another 20-25 minutes, depending on how you like your meat.
  9. Leave your wellington to rest for 10 minutes while making the sauce. Pour your wine into a pan with the mushrooms you saved, and then boil and simmer until you have 1 tablespoon of wine left. Add stock and mushroom liquid. The sauce should go syrupy after 10 minutes. Stir in a little butter and you’re done!

Saddle up for a wildly fun ride with the Wilde sisters!

Local land agent Aaron Masterson is fascinated with Kylie from the moment her long hair falls from her cap. But now that he knows her secret, can he in good conscience defraud the U.S. government? And when someone tries to force Kylie off her land, does he have any hope of convincing her that marrying him and settling on the frontier is the better option for her future?

My Review:

I really enjoyed Tried & True ~ I would give it a 5 rating!  I can’t wait for the next book in the series. The 3 Wilde sisters were tough they fought in the war and when it was over moved out west with their father.  Each claiming their own land site.  They needed to live and work the land for 3 years and they were doing it disguised as men. Kylie the youngest sister hated dressing like a man, hated living out in the wilderness. She was not as handy working her property as her sisters who came to her aid often.  When the local land agent Aaron came along he knew she was not a man and someone he was very interested in. The only problem was that Kylie wanted to move back East and Aaron wanted to move more into the wilderness.

Restores the skin’s protective barrier, locking moisture in and hydrating skin from the inside out. In as little as 4 weeks, you’ll enjoy smoother, softer skin. After 12 weeks, you’ll notice plumper, tighter skin with less fine lines and wrinkles. Helps fade stubborn crows feet even when every eye cream you’ve tried didn’t work. Softens laugh lines, frown lines, and forehead creases. Plumps out sagging skin on cheeks and neck.

I have been doing some reading on skin and how to keep it looking younger and healthier looking.  I have learned that our natural ceramides diminishes as we get older.  Ceramides helps keep your skin hydrated and that is what makes your face and skin look younger.  You can use as much lotion as you want but without hydrating your skin it will still look rough and old.

I have been taking Phytoceramides for the past few weeks and have increased the amount of water I drink.  I have noticed a change in my skin tone and how it feels.  Also by taking a capsule it is absorbed right into your bloodstream not only making your skin looking better but also helping your hair and nails grow and become thicker and stronger.

Here are some of the benefits of Phytoceramides:

  • Hydrates and softens skin
  • Smooths and softens dry, cracked skin even on your feet
  • Plumps, lifts, and firms skin
  • Softens wrinkles and crows feet
  • Has no side effects

If you would like to try Phytoceramides you can order it below at Amazon.com.

Day by Day Vitamin C Serum provides thirsting skin with antioxidants & rich, hydrating ingredients. It is used to help brighten skin tone, diminish superficial fine lines and wrinkles, reverse sun damage effects, lighten acne scarring, restore healthy elasticity, clarify skin, shrink pores and help retain moisture.  As you can see it could be your one skin care product to use.  Vitamin C is so good for your skin.

Day by Day Vitamin C Serum also has aloe, vitamin C and E, vegan hyaluronic acid and jojba oil.  These also help to hydrate your skin cells.

What I liked about this product is how easy it is to use.  You just apply a small amount to your face and gently rub it in.  Your skin will soak up the serum.  I also like how gentle and non greasy it is.  I use it in the morning and then at night. After it dries I then apply my day or night moisturizer.  I would also use it under makeup.  With extended use I know I will show brighter healthier looking skin.
