I recently received this Bake-A-Bowl from Sweet Creations and I can’t tell you what fun I had using it. It is so easy to use and you can make either sweet or savory bowls. I have a list of different recipes I want to try.
I have an hour from the time I get home from work and Rex leaves for work so I am always looking for a fast and easy meal. I decided to make Chicken Cordon Bleu in a Garlic Bread Bowl.
The first thing I did was using a pre-made pie crust. I cut it into round circles and placed it into the pan. Then I took some garlic butter and brushed it over the crust. Then placed the second pan over the crust. This helps prevent the crust from raising too much when you bake it. It also helps make that cute bowl shape.
While these bake for about 10 minutes I worked on my filling. I first melted some butter and olive oil in a pan. I added garlic, onions and mushrooms. I browned them until the were soft. Then add some left over chicken from the weekend. I also added some ham we had from Easter cut up into chunks. When heated through I added about 1/2 a jar of alfredo sauce. When everything was heated through I filled the bowls. Topped them with some Parmesan cheese and scallions.
Doesn’t that look good? I think next I am going to use the same bowls but fill it like a Chicken Club – using chicken, tomato, bacon bits, shredded cheese mixed with ranch dressing. Place some shredded lettuce in the bowl and then top with the chicken mixture.
