Author Bio:

Cat Lavoie was born in the small town of Jonquière in Québec, Canada. At the age of nineteen, she packed up her things (mostly books) and moved to the big city of Montreal where she currently lives with her tempestuous cat Abbie—who is both adorable and quite possibly evil.

An incurable Anglophile since her university days where she studied English Literature, she can often be found daydreaming about her next trip to London. Since she’s an expert at the art of procrastination, Cat is easily distracted by cooking and home improvement shows—even though she’s not particularly good at either.

Cat grew up watching soap operas and legal dramas and—had she not decided to be a claims analyst by day and write chick lit by night—she would have probably become a designer suit-wearing lawyer. Or a character on All My Children (which is what she really wanted to be when she was twelve).
Cat is not sure whether she’s a geek or a nerd—and is afraid she might be both. Breaking the Rules is her first novel.

My Review:

I enjoyed Reading Breaking The Rules.  It was a fun easy to read story.  Roxy and her best friend Ollie were roommates until Ollie left for an exciting overseas job.  When Ollie left they shared a kiss – was it just a kiss?  Did it mean more?  Why couldn’t Roxy stop thinking about it?  Roxy didn’t have time to wonder about it she had her two sisters staying with her and she needed to focus on them.  You will need to read this cute fun story to see what happens.  You will love it!

I found another great company in my search for products that are organic and good for you.  I just love Beach Organics and the products that they carry.  I was amazed at all the great products that they carry and that they are pure, natural, clean and green. They carry Organic deodorant which contain no aluminum, body powders, scrubs, sprays, hair products, bug spray and even dog shampoo.  There is something for everyone!!

I received a number of different products from Beach Organics and really loved them all.  I want to tell  you a bit about each product I was lucky enough to use.

The first I tried the handcrafted Organic Soap.  I tried the Organic Coastal Breeze which had a great scent they use essential oils of Lemongrass, Bergamot, Geranium and Clary Sage and I also tried the Organic Beach Comber  which has Lemongrass and Vetiver.  I liked both fragrances and I really liked the soap.  It is a bit different than other soaps as it is detergent-free so it doesn’t dry your skin out and the no artificial fragrance.  I loved the lather. The soap is also great to use to shave your legs and underarms while in the shower so using the soap for cleaning and shaving can save you money.  It left my skin feeling clean, soft and moisturized plus I knew it was safe for my skin and for the environment.

The next item I used was the Moisturizing Natural Body Lotion with Aloe in the Coastal Breeze scent. Which again I can not say enough about I love using products that are so good for me and help make my skin look health. I liked the way the lotion absorbed into my skin and did not leave any greasy feeling. All of the products are made in small controlled batches to ensure exceptional quality. The body lotion contains the finest natural herbal extracts and pure essential oils.

I also used the Natural Deodorant without Aluminum. I used the  Lemongrass Natural Deodorant and first I liked the light clean scent. It was funny many times I will be sitting at my desk thinking something really smells good and it’s me!!  Beach Organics are using centuries-old recipes that not only are gentle and effective, but keep you smelling fresh, clean and odor-free all day.  Since bacteria are the part of perspiration that cause the unpleasant odor, you will feel fresh as a daisy with just a single morning application!

During the winter I use a lot of lip balm.  I hate when my lips feel chapped and dry.  Beach Organics has another great product that I loved.  The Lip Balm with beeswax which too is certified organic.  I tried the Organic Mint Lip Balm. I liked how smooth and moist my lips felt.  They didn’t feel greasy after I applied the lip balm.   They fill their lip balm with therapeutic ingredients like bees was, shea butter, cocoa butter, aloe, jojoba and vitamin E to help keep your lips moist.  They never use parabens or triclosans so you don’t have to worry about harmful ingredients.

The last item I received but really have not tried yet – but look forward to using this summer is  The Bug Off Insect Repellent.  I hate the smell of bug spray you buy in store – but this really didn’t have much of an odor.  It is all-natural bug repellent that contains nothing but essential oils and distilled water. It is a natural, non-toxic insect repellent.  I can’t wait to use it!!

I also had the Chocolate Pretzels which had 3 kinds of chocolate and caramel drizzled over it  and Chocolate Popcorn which was loaded with almonds,  pecans and cashews and then drizzled with 3 kinds of chocolate. Yummy!

The last one I tried was the Sea Salt Caramel Popcorn which is a new product. This has caramel corn made with real butter and brown sugar, chewy, gooey caramel and the perfect amount of sea-salt.  I loved this one too.
