Book Description:

When notorious outlaw Scout Proffitt wins a rundown ranch in west Texas, he expects to find the home he’s never had. Instead, he finds a run-down shack, a barn in dire straits…and a lovely woman who’s in no hurry to give up her ranch.
When Scout discovers that Rosemarie has nowhere else to go, he   reluctantly allows her to stay with him for two weeks until she can find another home. But soon the locals get involved and insist they marry.

Determined to do at least one thing right in his life, he marries Rose. Then people from his past come back and give him an offer he can’t refuse. If things go well, he can make a fresh start. If not, he’ll be even worse off than before.
Which was something he never thought possible…

My Review:
A Texan’s Choice is the third book in  the Heart of a Hero Series.  I think I would have liked to have read the two before this one. Not because I needed to read it, I would just have liked to. I though this was a good book and enjoyed reading it.

This story was about Scout Proffitt’s.  Poor Rosemarie Cousins.  Her father dies, her Mom leaves and moves in with her oldest daughter, and Scout shows up and tells Rosemarie that the farm is his.  Her father had lost the farm in  game of cards.  Rosemarie is left homeless.  What does she do? Does Scout let her stay?  You will need to read the book to find out.

Stop by some of the other stops along the book tour and see how they liked A Texan’s Choice.

My boyfriend, Rex has been having some lower back pain lately and nothing seemed to help.  So when I received some Noxicare Natural Pain Relief I couldn’t wait to try it on his back.  So I rubbed some on his lower back.  What I liked about it is that it was not greasy, I could tell it also wasn’t going to rub off.  I think it must also be water  proof so it would stay on.  I also like that it was fragrance free not like some of those topical products that have such a strong smell everyone knows that you used something.
Rex liked that it didn’t burn when I put it and that it didn’t smell.  He also liked that it really helped.  He has used it a couple days and his lower back pain went away. His shoulder was hurting a bit from working out at the gym and he used  Noxicare Natural Pain Relief and it seemed to help the pain go away.
Noxicare™ Natural Pain Relief is a breakthrough natural, patented pain relief formula that is a proprietary combination of 7 of the world’s most potent natural pain relievers that quickly and effectively alleviate inflammation, muscle aches and nerve pain—with NO known side effects and without a prescription.

What is in Noxicare™ Natural Pain Reliever?

One of the most powerful natural pain relievers known to exist; recognized for its anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric is a powerful herb in the ginger family that contains curcumin as its active ingredient. Curcumin provides the health benefits of turmeric and turmeric extract, useful as an anti-inflammatory agent and as an antioxidant. Studies have shown that turmeric may help reduce the pain and irritation experienced by patients with irritable bowel syndrome and its anti-inflammatory properties help to naturally relieve pain associated with arthritis by reducing inflammation in the joints.

Willow bark

Willow Bark

Has been used for natural pain relief and inflammation since the time of Ancient Egypt and Greece. The use of willow bark dates back thousands of years when patients chewed on the bark to reduce fever and inflammation. Willow bark continues to be used today for the treatment of pain (particularly low back pain, tension headaches and osteoarthritis), and inflammatory conditions such as bursitis and tendinitis.

Helps relieve muscle pains, arthritis and rheumatism, and is a catalyst for improving the effectiveness of other herbs. Ginger is an effective anti-inflammatory agent used for thousands of years to alleviate arthritis, headaches, rheumatism and sore throat, while also naturally relieving muscle strains and knee pains experienced by athletes. The medicinal part of ginger is the rhizome, an underground stem that most people refer to as the root. Western herbalists classify ginger as a carminative, which settles the intestine and eases pain by removing gas from the digestive tract. This versatile and useful herb also serves as a catalyst for improving the effectiveness of other natural pain relieving herbs found in Noxicare™.

Rosemary Extract

Has served a variety of purposes including topical use for joint or musculoskeletal pain. Ancient Egyptians knew to relieve musculoskeletal pain by rubbing rosemary extract oil into their skin. Today, rosemary has become important due to its natural pain relief ability, as well as stimulate hair growth, boost mental activity and relieve respiratory problems.

Holy basil

Holy Basil

Properties include anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial and antiviral. Holy Basil is a plant indigenous to India and extremely well-regarded as beneficial for many different health problems. Holy basil inhibits inflammatory-causing enzymes that contribute to arthritis and other types of pain caused by inflammation. Holy basil has antimicrobial and anti-viral properties, and expectorant properties as well, useful in respiratory tract infections and during respiratory stress.

Boswellia Extract

Boswellia is a genus of trees native to India known for their fragrant resin which has many pharmacological uses, particularly as an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever. Boswellia extracts and oils have been used to treat back pain and has been compared in effectiveness to steroids in treating Crohn’s disease and other intestinal problems—without causing ulcers like aspirin family medications.

Alpha Lipoic Acids

Alpha Lipoic Acids

Antioxidants used for treating diabetic neuropathy and increasing blood flow to the nerves. Acid Alpha Lipoic Acid is a natural pain relief antioxidant made by every cell in the body, and is also found in foods such as red meats and spinach. It is well known for its proven pain relieving abilities, particularly against numbness, burning and pain often associated with diabetic neuropathy.  ALA also helps vitamins C and E work better, and is used to treat and detox the liver.

I would recommend this product to anyone who have some aches and pains.  Noxicare Natural Pain Relief has kindly offered two of my readers some of their Pain relief cream.
You must be 18+ US, like Noxicare on Facebook and follow Kaisy Daisy’s Corner in at least one way.  Each way you follow is an extra entry.

Title: Feels Like the First Time
Author: Shawn Inmon
Date Published: 9/5/12
September, 1975: Shawn meets Dawn, his one true love, when she moves into the vacant house next door. Many people spend their life searching in vain for happiness, but he was lucky; finding it at the age of fifteen.
February 1979: Forbidden to see each other and feeling he is harming her by being in her life, he walks away from the love of his life, apparently forever.

December, 2006: After decades of sadness and mourning the girl that got away, he has a chance meeting with her that might change his life forever… again. Can the sweet bond of first love not only survive, but flourish?

Feels Like the First Time lets you share in the magic of young love in small town America in the 1970s. No matter how much the world changes, some things – timeless music, high school dances, making out in the backseat of a Chevy Vega, and of course true love – will always remain the same.

Shawn Inmon is originally from Mossyrock Washington, where his first book Feels Like the First Time is set. He has been a real estate broker in Enumclaw Washington for the last twenty years. Prior to that, he worked as a short-order cook, travelling T-shirt salesman, radio DJ, Cutco Cutlery sales rep, department store buyer, video store manager, crab fisherman, Kirby vacuum cleaner salesman, business consultant and public speaker. He is married to his high school sweetheart Dawn and has five daughters, five grandchildren and two chocolate labs named Hershey and Sadie.

My Review:
I loved this book.  It reminded me of the small town I grew up in and all the things I tried to do right but just never did.

Dawn moved next door to Shawn at the age of 15.  They soon became friends.  I liked that the story was based on the 70’s.  I am a bit younger but remember the time well as I had older brothers and sisters.  This story made me laugh and cry right along with Shawn and Dawn.  Once I started I couldn’t put it down.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful love story. I know anyone who reads it will full in love with it like I did.

Thank you for stopping at my spot on One Pink Line Book Tour. This Book Tour is brought to you by AToMR Tours. I will provide you with a description of the book, review, and a small bio from Dina Silver. Visit the other blogs on this Book Tour to learn more about this book.
Author: Dina Silver
Title: One Pink Line
Release date: Nov. 2011

Book Description:
Can the love of a lifetime be forever changed by one pink line? Dina Silver’s tender, absorbing novel, One Pink Line, is the warmhearted, wry story of love, loss and family, as seen through the prism of one singular, spirited young couple who find themselves in a predicament that changes the course of their lives, and those closest to them. With heart, humor and compassion, this debut work of women’s fiction is certain to stir anyone who relishes a good laugh, can stand a good cry, and, above all believes in the redemptive power of love.

This unique, contemporary story gives readers a dual perspective. Sydney Shephard, a sweet-tempered, strong-natured college senior is young, in love with an exceptional man, and unexpectedly pregnant. Faced with a child she never planned for, she is forced to relay this news to her neurotic mother, relinquish her youth, and risk losing the love of her life. Then there’s Grace, a daughter, who believed she was a product of this great love, grows to realize her existence is not what she assumed, and is left with profound and puzzling questions about who she really is.

Spanning generations and every imaginable emotion, One Pink Line reveals how two points of view can be dramatically at odds, and perhaps ultimately reconciled. Simultaneously deeply felt and lighthearted, One Pink Line deftly mines how the choices we make are able to alter so many lives, and how doing the right thing and living honestly can bring unexpected, hard-won happiness. It’s a must-read for anyone who craves a great love story, absorbing characters, and plenty of laughs along the way.

About the author

A graduate of Purdue University, Dina Silver has spent the past fifteen years feeding her red wine habit by working as a copywriter in the advertising industry. In addition to writing ad copy, she formed Dinas Ideas (, a greeting card company, in 2003. Dina serves as the sole writer and designer for the business and has penned over 300 greeting cards since its inception.

My Review

I really enjoyed One Pink Line.  I liked the characters and how they were brought to life.  I thought the author brought each one to life.

Sydney Shephard found out she was pregnant right before finishing college and from a one night stand, she wasn’t sure what to do.  She called her sister who came and helped talk her through what her options were.  Sydney decided to keep the child. The hardest thing Sydney had to do was tell her mother and father, her boyfriend, and the man who was the father of the child.

Grace is a blessing in so many ways.   When growing up she figures out her father is not her real Dad and wants to know more about her real father.  Her mother Sydney doesn’t really want to talk about Kevin, Grace’s father as he didn’t really want to have anything to do with either one.

I think anyone would like this book, I think they would all want to help Sydney find what she is looking for.

The author is giving away (7) eBook copies of ONE PINK LINE. Open International.

Finding the Baby Jesus by Kimball Fisher

After being forced to wear lederhosen for the annual holiday card picture, twelve-year-old Chris thinks that the least his parents can do is get him the Tony Hawk skateboard he wants for Christmas. But when he recovers the hand-carved Baby Jesus that everyone thought had been destroyed in a fire the year his Grandma died, Chris realizes that some gifts are even more important than skateboards.

When the author had to discontinue a cherished tradition of reading Christmas stories out loud with his family and holiday guests each week in December, he wrote Finding the Baby Jesus. He had been unable to locate enough meaningful stories that could be read in a single sitting with wiggly children.

Praise for Finding the Baby Jesus:
“Tender and true, this warm Christmas tale brought tears to my eyes.”

–Heather Vogel Frederick, author of the much-beloved Mother-Daughter Book Club series and Oregon Book Award winner for The Voyage of Patience Goodspeed

“A touching story that speaks to the importance of family, giving, and the true spirit of Christmas.”

–Matthew Kirby, author of Icefall, winner of the Edgar Allen Poe and the Pen Center USA Literary Awards for Children’s Literature

“Deeply moving. Poignant.”

–Deborah Halverson, former editor at Harcourt Children’s Books and author of Honk If You Hate Me, a Gayle McCandliss Literary Award Winner

“The perfect little book to tuck away with your Christmas things and bring out year after year to read with family. As mother to three boys, I can’t imagine a better protagonist than Chris. His typical teenage attitude followed by the softening of his heart towards a friend teaches a poignant and very relatable lesson on the true meaning of Christmas.”
–Amazon review

“After I read this short story I felt like I had read a novel–every sentence is packed with action and imagery. I was emotionally connected to the characters, and the story is touching. I didn’t see the plot twist at the end coming! A great story to read every Christmas.”
–Amazon review

Title: Life on the Edge
Author: Jennifer Comeaux
Date Published: 1/3/12

Nineteen-year-old Emily is new to pairs skating, but she and her partner Chris have a big dream–to be the first American team to win Olympic gold. Their young coach Sergei, who left Russia after a mysterious end to his skating career, believes they can break through and make history.

Emily and Chris are on track to be top contenders at the 2002 Winter Games. But when forbidden feelings spark between Emily and Sergei, broken trust and an unexpected enemy threaten to derail Emily’s dreams of gold.

Author Bio:

Jennifer Comeaux earned a Master of Accounting from Tulane University and is a Certified Public Accountant in south Louisiana. While working for a Fortune 1000 company, she sought a creative outlet and decided to put on paper a story that had played in her head for years. That story became Life on the Edge, her first published novel.

When not working or writing, she is an avid follower of the sport of figure skating, travelling to competitions around the country. Those experiences allow her to see another side of the sport and serve as an inspiration for her writing. Jennifer is blessed with a wonderful family and many friends who have encouraged her to pursue her dream of being a published author.

I was excited to read this book about skating.  Growing up I ice skated not even remotely good but it was something we did on the pond out back in the winter.  I always watched the Olympics and wanting to be good at skating.  I was not disappointed this was a very sweet and cute story.

The story starts with Emily just starting to train to skate as a partner with Chris.  Their coach is Russian and his name is Sergei.  The love story is between Emily and Sergei her coach.  They must hide their love affair as it is not thought highly of a coach and skater to have a relationship.

What happens to Emily and Chris? Do they make it to the Olympics? What happens to Sergi and Emily?  You will need to read and find out what happens.

I really liked the details on how the author went into detail on the details and the work that it takes to be an Olympic skater.  I think anyone would enjoy Life on the Edge like I did.
Make sure to stop at some of these other stops on the tour and read more about Life on the Edge.
