In the first in New York Times bestselling author Lynn Cahoon’s Kitchen Witch series, Mia Malone is starting over in Magic Springs, Idaho—where murder is on the menu . . .

What’s a kitchen witch to do when her almost-fiancé leaves her suddenly single and unemployed? For Mia Malone, the answer’s simple: move to her grandmother’s quirky Idaho hometown, where magic is an open secret and witches and warlocks are (mostly) welcome. With a new gourmet dinner delivery business—and a touch of magic in her recipes—Mia’s hopes are high. Even when her ex’s little sister, Christina, arrives looking for a place to stay, Mia takes it in stride.

But her first catering job takes a distasteful turn when her client’s body is found, stabbed and stuffed under the head table. Mia’s shocked to learn that she’s a suspect—and even more so when she realizes she’s next on a killer’s list. With Christina, along with Mia’s meddling grandma, in the mix, she’ll have to find out which of the town’s eccentric residents has an appetite for murder…before this fresh start comes to a sticky end. . . .

Includes Recipes!

Do you have cardboard boxes and packaging left over from the holidays? Don’t throw them away! Upcycling these boxes to give them a new life, instead, it is a fun and environmentally-friendly option. That is if you can get them before your cat does. Jasper just loves boxes.

Just the right size for him!
Now this one is a more comfortable.

TheSoul Publishing – one of the leading content providers on YouTube – has several creative hacks to turn a cardboard box into aesthetically pleasing and 100% recycled home storage. These crafty hacks, which can be found in this video. Here are two that would be easy to make.

Here is a cute way to store notebooks, journals and books. It’s easy to do – just follow these directions.

  1. Use a sharp knife or scissors to cut a shoebox in half diagonally
  2. Use contact paper or tightly adhered wrapping paper to completely cover the remaining cardboard
  3. Adhere the long sides of the remaining sections together, back to back
  4. Use to store books, office supplies, and more!
Pencil Container
  1. Using a scissors, cut a long, narrow box (such as a perfume box or toothpaste box) in half.
  2. Glue or tape the two sides together, so that both holes face up
  3. Using a hot glue gun, glue paper straws cut in half along the perimeter of the box
  4. Set on your desk to hold pencils!

There is lots more you can do to up-cycle left over boxes. Have fun seeing what you can create. I would love to see what you come up with.

Sometime we all need help – with the past year I know many people who can use a little extra care. Here are a few good tips to make your day a bit better.

Shower. Not a bath, a shower. Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.

Moisturize everything. Use whatever lotion you like. Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis.

Put on clean, comfortable clothes.Put on your favorite underwear. Cute black lacy panties? Those ridiculous boxers you bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.

Drink cold water. Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost. I always use lime.

Clean something. Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.Blast music.

Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.

Make food. Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.

Make something. Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.

Go outside. Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.

Call someone. Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.

Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them. Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.

May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.**Your absolute best won’t ever be good enough for the wrong people. At your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on. In case nobody has told you today I love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all keep pushing on!!!!

I am so excited to be back working on my blog again – it is one of my favorite things to do. The last few years have had lots of ups and downs for me. The best thing that happened is that I got married. I am now Kay Tiffin! I was married June 30, 2018 to Rex – he is a great man.

We have had a great couple years and hope for many more!

My family had some bad times too – like so many other of you. One of my brothers passed away unexpectedly – darn cancer! My mother is suffering from dementia and in memory care.

Then came 2019 and Covid 19. This has touched all of our lives – mostly not in a good way. I worked in the Travel Industry for the same company the last 20+ years. I was furloughed in March of 2020 and am still looking for a job.

Like everyone else I am tired of this – I am tired of being home while my husband is gone all day. It gets so lonely and depressing at time. So I decided I need to do things I love – and my blog is one thing! I will be reviewing products and books. Sharing recipes and craft projects. I am hoping to get healthy along the way too! Let me know what you would like to hear about. I am so glad to be back and grateful for all of you! I hope for only the best for you all.

An orthodontist is an oral health professional who is capable of treating a variety of jaw and bite irregularities. A Highlands Ranch Orthodontist can help you achieve the beautiful, healthy smile of which you have always dreamed. This will reduce the wear and tear on teeth that would otherwise be protruding. There are a few common problems that a trained orthodontist can treat.

Teeth that Are Overcrowded

Crowded teeth can be a serious issue for patients. If your teeth are overcrowded, this means that there isn’t enough space in your jaw to accommodate all of your teeth. While you might notice your crowded teeth in the mirror, this can lead to serious oral health problems as well. This can lead to uneven wear and tear on the surfaces of your teeth. This can also lead to gum problems. Finally, this might make it hard for you to adequately brush all surfaces of your teeth, leading to decay.

Problems with the Spacing of the Teeth

Gaps between your teeth can occur anywhere in your jaw. While some spacing issues might be present since birth, this can also result from teeth that are either too small or missing entirely. Finally, some kids who suck their thumb can push the teeth forward, leading to spacing. If the teeth are too far apart, this can make it hard to bite cleanly and can lead to tooth decay. A trained orthodontist can move the teeth closer together, creating a straight smile.

An Open Bite

Next, an open bite is a common issue that an orthodontist can treat. This happens when the upper and lower teeth do not join together properly when the mouth closes. This usually happens with the jawbone is not lined up correctly. Chewing on foreign objects and thumb sucking can cause the jaw to misalign. If the bite is open, this makes it hard for patients to break apart food, leading to nutritional issues. An orthodontist has numerous tools at his or her disposal to treat this alignment issue and correct an open bite.

Trust the Experience of a Trained Orthodontist

These are a few of the most common problems that can be addressed by a trained orthodontist. If you have problems with your teeth, bite, or smile, you have treatment options at your disposal. Not only can an orthodontist improve the aesthetic of your smile but also your oral health as well!

Aren’t we living in a crazy time? Who ever thought we would have a pandemic and be quarantine? I have been furloughed from my job and staying home for the last few weeks. I have been wondering how to keep myself busy. Activities, like internet surfing or streaming an endless amount of shows and movies, keep me entertained, but it also puts a considerable amount of strain on the eyes and the body.  What are have you been doing with all your extra time? Buying a few chicks to raise? Making more meals? Or maybe a new hobby?

I have found something that is fun and unique alternative to repetitive eye strain. Diamond Art Club makes creative and affordable art kits painting with “diamonds” to create beautiful works of art in hours or days, that anyone can do at home. There is very little learning curve to learn how to make designs, and it’s a fantastic activity that the whole family can get involved in, or do individually as a passive hobby.

The Diamond Art Club crafting kits come with everything you need to complete a beautiful picture. It comes with the printed canvas, diamonds, tray, applicator and grip.

This paint-by-numbers style artwork uses beautiful sparkling resin diamonds that you craft onto the canvas to make stunning, intricate designs. The artwork is printed on the canvas; all you have to do is follow the pattern and make your masterpiece shine!

Here is mine so far – I love working on it.

Diamond painting is a wonderful way to reveal your artistic side, even if there’s not a single crafty bone in your body. Using an applicator tool and wax, you scoop up diamonds and set them on an adhesive canvas which features a color-coded chart. In other words, it’s so easy, even a child could do it! But even experienced crafters feel the draw to this mesmerizing hobby. It is a great way to spend time relaxing.

You can purchase the kit I am working on “Read me a Bedtime Story” or any of the Diamond Art Club Kits Here. Each Diamond Art Club kit includes everything you need to create a dazzling work of art at home, including all supplies and accessories. Ready to get started with diamond art painting?
